I found the book extremely useful because it gives very much detail on the exact chemical composition of the substances, which is very useful for us to determine relevant patents in the first place and where our own, existing information is often not very good. Also, the fact that you attempt to list any organisations that have had some input in the development of a drug is very useful for us as background for our own research.

Finally, a source for information about biopharmaceutical products! Our library has several expensive R&D pipeline resources and a number of company directories. Now that we have your book, we are starting to realize what we've been missing and how poor these sources are for information about these marketed products. The book will save us considerable time and effort. Even more important, it provides much information we formerly accepted as simply being unavailable.

Just recently, I had our competitive intelligence and information center staff look for the types of information you so conveniently provide (what is it, how's it made, what's its status, who's involved, technology transfers, etc.) for some competing products. They charged our department more than the cost of the book just for online searching, and came back with just bits and pieces (nothing like the extensive monographs in the book) and hardly any information about manufacturing and regulatory approvals and status. They missed some critical information which changed our understanding of these products, such as their supplemental approvals, the early involvement of a company we are currrently collaborating with, and that nearly all of the clinical trials (other than the Phase III trials) with one product used an E. coli-expressed protein while the marketed product is a mammalian cell-expressed glycoprotein.
